“We decided it was time to make the investment, to make this part of the real estate that we have here, and not just that, but expand it,” said Martin Weissburg, president of the company. and President of Mack Trucks.

Volvo has been in Greensboro for over 40 years.

Volvo Financial Services provides financial services to customers of Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment, Nova bus, Prevost cars and Volvo bus in North America. It manages approximately $20 billion in assets.

In total, the unit is present in 50 countries with a global workforce of approximately 1,700 people.

Marcio Pedroso, president of Volvo Financial Services, said the timing of the expansion is partly driven by growing demand for electric transportation options.

“The move of Volvo Financial Services allows all Volvo Group entities in Piedmont to be located on one campus,” Pedroso said.

“Colocation will deepen relationships with our colleagues, and the work environment we will create at our new headquarters will help us retain world-class, highly skilled jobs that support the local economy.”

Weissburg defined the Uptime Center as “offering customers that promise of uptime with the call center and customer support so that if there’s a problem with a truck or equipment, we’ll get the customer going.”
