Qathet Regional District to review a five-year financial plan

The administration and operations of the qathet regional district (qRD) are governed by the local government act and the community charter. Each year, the qRD must be subject to an annual budget process. The annual budgeting process provides a roadmap for the organization and helps in the day-to-day management of qRD. The budgeting process allows the qRD to set its utility tax rates for the year, value liabilities, capital funding, and all property acquisitions and disposals. In addition, the annual budgeting process feeds into the five-year financial plan, which outlines five-year capital project planning and asset management for the entire region. Wherever possible, the qRD works collaboratively with local key players, as well as provincial and federal governments to secure grants to help pay for services and projects aimed at reducing the tax burden on our residents. .
