Armstrong Watson has acquired the long-standing practice of Leeds Grants Chartered Accountants.
The merger sees seven members of Grants staff join Armstrong Watson’s downtown office in Leeds.
Jonathan Grant has also joined us as a consultant and will continue to provide tax and accounting services to existing clients, while reducing his hours and transitioning into retirement.
He said he viewed the acquisition as a great opportunity for all parties, adding: “The decision to partner with another long-established independent business advisory firm has been carefully considered and brings benefits positive to our two most important cohorts – customers and staff.
“I believe that customers will continue to receive quality personalized service and, for some, this will give them the advantage of being able to benefit from the skills of a larger company.”
“The opportunities that exist at Armstrong Watson will greatly benefit these customers.”
Paul Dickson, Managing Partner and CEO of Armstrong Watson, said, “We very much look forward to working with Jonathan and his colleagues at Grants. This merger combines two firms with a similar culture, with complementary practice strengths and sector expertise.
“We hope that by offering a growing range of specialists and advisors, we will ensure that we continue to provide Grants clients with the personalized and proactive support and advice essential to profit and growth.”
The deal follows three acquisitions for Armstrong Watson over the past 12 months as the business expands into Leeds, Hexham and Carlisle – areas where it is already well established – and reinforces its aim to become “the go-to company for the family and the owner”. – businesses managed in the North of England and Scotland.
